Mac OS X 10.9.5, Safari 9.1.1

I had Adobe Acrobat Reader DC v. 15.016.20041 (According to the crash report)

Kept crashing: “The last time you opened Acrobat Reader, it unexpectedly quit while reopening windows. Do you want to try to reopen its windows again?”

So, I uninstalled it.

1) Trashed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.app from Application folder

2) From Macintosh HD/Library/Internet plug-Ins:

Trashed:

AdobePDFViewer.plugin

AdobePDFViewer NPAPI.plugin

3) From Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe:

Trashed:

Reader Folder

HelpCfg Folder

4) From Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences:

trashed :

Com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist

5)  From Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences:

trashed:  com.adobe.reader.DC.WebResource.plist

6) From Macintosh HD/Users/~my name/Library/Application Support/Adobe:

Trashed:

Acrobat Folder

7) From Macintosh HD/Users/~ my name/Library/Preferences

Trashed:

com.adobe.ARM.plist

com.adobe.Reader.plist

Com.adobe.crashreporter.plist

8) Restart Mac

So, I think I completely uninstalled it. Now to reinstall it.

I D/L Adobe Acrobat Reader DC from:

https://get.adobe.com/reader/

Web page stated:

“Your system:

Mac OS (Intel) 10.5.8 - 10.11, English”

I D/L & began the installation.

Got error message Pop up:

“Adobe Acrobat Reader DC

Found a higher version Adobe Acrobat DC in the install location. Installation will terminate.”

Only 1 choice “OK.”& then Web page stated:

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC did not install successfully

================================================================

What do I do now?

Thanks!
